THE JETTY BOON

AFTER A LONG N KINDA BUMPY ROAD WE REACHED THIS POINT.... THIS IS THE JUNGLE JETTY IS WAT THE LOCAL PPL CALL IT... THE THE WATER WHICH U CAN SEE IN FRONT OF U IS ACTUALLY A CREEK... ITS CALLED "BANKOT CKEEK" THIS CREEK DIVIDES RATNAGIRI N RAIGAD DISTRICT... SO THIS SIDE OF THE CREEK IS RATNAGIRI N ON THE OTHER SIDE IS RAIGAD DISTRICT....FORM RATNAGIRI SIDE THERE IS A SMALL VILLAGE CALLED "BANKOT" FROM WHERE THE JETTY STARTS AND ON THE RAIGAD SIDE REACHES A VILLAGE CALLED "BAGMANDLA"....THIS IS THE SHORTEST WAY TO GET FROM RATNAGIRI TO RAIGAD N VICE VERSA..IT BARELY TAKES 15 MINS TO REACH THE OTHER END.....U FEEL LIKE LOOPING THOSE MOVEMENT FOR THE REST OF UR LIFE...TINY DROPS OF RAIN FALLING ON UR FACE... U FELL THE COOL BREEZE N U SHIVER..N SMILE TO PERSON STANDING NEXT TO U.....ONCE UR HALF WAY THROUGHT THE VIEW IS BREATH TAKING....

THIS JUNGLE JETTY STARTED ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN A COMPLETE BOON FOR TOURISTS TRAVELLING FROM RAIGAD TO RATNAGIRI....BEFORE THIS JETTY U HAD TO TAKE A BIG DETOUR TO GO TO RAIGAD.... ITS A 70 KMS ROAD TO GET ACROSS THE CREEK...RAIN,SNOW,HAIL, WATEVER IT MAY BE THE JETTY IS SERVING ITS PURPOSE...STARTS AT 7 O CLOCK IN THE MORNING N THE LAST ACROSS IS AT 6 O CLOCK..THE JETTY IS ON HOURLY BASES... FOR A SMALL CAR LIKE ALTO,INDICA,MARUTI 800.. THE CHARGES R 70 RUPEES N DRIVER INCLUDED... FOR REST 7 RUPEES PER PERSON..IT CAN ALSO FIT A BIG VOLVO IN IT...

IN THE CENTER RIGHT OF THE ABOVE PIC U CAN SEE A HILL WELL MY NATIVE PLACE IS LOCATED ON THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE HILL...KINDA FELL LUCK TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL NATIVE PLACE...OK SO HARESHWAR IS HARDLY 4 KMS FROM BAGMANDLA....THE ONLY 2 COLOURS U SEE ARE GREEN N BROWN(RIVERS)....ITS SOO GREEN THAT U FEEL THAT THERE R GRASSHOPPERS SITTING IN EVERYWHERE....IT WAS RAINING DOGS N BITICHES THERE...THREE DAYS IN PEACE NO CELL PHONE RECEPTION.. ITS FUN TO GET TOTALLY DISCONNECTED FROM THE WORLD ONCE IN A WHILE...

DEMPO SHIPYARD GOA....

this picture is clicked in GOA..DEMPO shipyard...as dads ship was in goa for many days he was like y dont u come down to goa... well i was more than happy to go to goa for obvious reasons...

well i am writing bout dry dock so lets get to it... the place where the ship is parked is called a DRY DOCK .dry dock is a place which is perpendicular to the shore.. its like a narrow passage where the ship can fit...the ship is navigated into the dry dock through small ships also called "tugs"..

the ship is navigated n then the gates r closed from behind n then the water is flooded out...so its like a big vessel n the ship is parked in it ....after flooding the water out the ship is being rested on big tough heavy duty logs....this allows the workers to work on the hull of the ship..this ship MANGALAM was there for maintenance... over 300 tonns of steel was scraped....this ship was here for 4 months...n the rent of this dry dock is 15 k per day.... now u do the math !!! but still this was a small time dry dock...there r big times docks which charge in 100k per day.....

NASHIK

This breath taking place near NASHIK .... the back waters of GANGAPUR dam of Godavari river....Godavari also called the "Dakshin" GANGA (southern GANGA).. this place is actually 12 mins drive from the place where i was staying which happened to be the heart of the city..so its like in max to max 15 mins ur out of the city n into the wild....nothing can beat that i think...

i had seen this place before but only in pictures clicked by my brother who stays in nashik.. when i saw the pictures i was like dude where is this place ... he coolly replies jus 15 mins away... i was so excited.. i was like we r going...we left at round 6 pm reached on time...there was nobody except for us....it was nice cool n breezy...u cud hear the birds chirping everywhere its was pleasing to the ears for like 20 mins but after that it was so bloody irritating.... anyway got many good shots.... n trust me that place is clean as a newly opened hospital .... thankfully many people dont know this place so its not "comercialized"... there no "chai wallas" or "bhuta wallas" or "pan tapri" ...

i hope that his place stays like this till end of time....

this road is the MUMBAI -GOA highway...the roads were so beautiful that u fell that this road may never end...let it go on n on n on.... its like an actual "TRIP"...nice cute little windy roads is all that u need .. n just to add some more cream u have LYNYRD SKYNYRD on ur cd player....

On these roads u dont feel like driving fast.. ok let me be honest these roads r not 'autobahns" of germany..but still driving like bout say 50 to 60 KMPH is fun... u really enjoy the ride..cool breeze flowing through ur face .... n all the nature around u .... simply too good...after like a few kilometers from this point we reached a small hotel... typical road side hotel.... we were all hungry as hell...there we had awesome "kanda bhaji" followed by a spicy ginger tea....this GOA trip was definitely one of the best trips of m life...
